2026 Book Drive Fundraising Campaign

Invited Guests: Dr. Cortney Chaffin Kim
Dr. Cortney Chaffin Kim is a Professor of Asian Art History at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where she has taught for 19 years. She is also co-founder and director of Asian Art and archaeology at ARTSQ, an educational organization that aims to make art history accessible to all ages, from kids to life long learners. She earned a MA and PhD in East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Pennsylvania with a special focus on early Chinese art and archaeology. While a graduate student, she studied abroad at Wuhan University with Dr. Xu Shaohua, who encouraged and supported her research interests in Bronze Age China.
Invited Guests: Lucy P. Liu
Lucy P. Liu is a Chinese paper-cutting artist and advocate who promotes the art form through public art, festivals, and educational programs. Her first art album, Amazing Grace, was published in 2020, featuring 22 works and poetry.
She gained early recognition in 2013, ranking 6th in a national arts festival. A senior member of the American Paper-Cutting Artists Association (GAP), she was the keynote speaker at its 2021 international conference. Her work has been featured in publications and museum exhibitions, including a 2020 solo show at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Lucy has been artist-in-residence at multiple museums and has taught workshops at universities, libraries, and schools. She is now director of the GAP’s Paper Cutting Museum, the only museum dedicated to the art form.
